Privacy at Matchway

Information you choose to provide

Matchway receives your account identifier, email and available display name through sign-in. We store profile preferences, saved items, goals, provider requests, messages, uploaded photos, business applications, support requests and notification settings needed to operate these features.

Private plans and provider requests

Your larger goal is private to your account. A provider receives the service request you approve, your account name and the details or photos you choose to send in that conversation. Review the request before sending. Business listings and published Discover posts are public; do not publish private information in them.

Storage and delivery

Signed-in account data is stored in Matchway’s hosted database and photo storage. Guest saved items and welcome preferences may be stored on your device. A temporary welcome draft may remain in session storage during sign-in and is removed when the flow is finished; expired drafts are discarded when the welcome flow next loads. Google Firebase provides email/password authentication. Cloudflare provides hosting, database and photo storage. These providers process the information needed to run those services. Authentication and hosting providers also process technical information, such as IP addresses, request metadata and error logs, to secure accounts, prevent abuse and troubleshoot the service.

If phone notifications are enabled, a device token is stored for delivery through Apple. Lock-screen messages use generic wording. Administrative event summaries are delivered to our operations channel through Discord, or Slack when configured. These alerts are designed to exclude private goal descriptions and message contents.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, remove saved items, change notification preferences, block business messaging, and request deletion through Support. Account deletion is reviewed by the Matchway team; it does not automatically cancel agreements you made with providers. We will explain any records that must be retained when responding to your request.

External services

When you open a business website, Maps, or another search source, that service’s privacy practices apply. Backup search links include the service and location displayed in your task, rather than the text of your larger private goal. Avoid sending passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary medical information through Matchway messages.
